Sylvan Inn

This historic Inn by Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore is like a warm embrace. It draws you in and folds you in comfort and nostalgia for simpler times. The location, comfort, decor, breakfast, wraparound porch, and nearby art galleries are all excellent. We very much enjoyed eating our breakfast on the porch on a chilly damp October morning. They have an excellent selection of teas and a delicious breakfast each morning. Our bed was very comfortable, and we both had a great sleep the nights that we stayed. We loved all of the antique furniture, photos and other touches; although the Inn is historic and there are lots of period pieces throughout, it did not appear dusty and was super clean everywhere, especially our room (#5) which was spacious and had a small porch off the back. Beck was a friendly and efficient hostess at breakfast in the mornings and we appreciated her hospitality. We would definitely stay here again anytime we’re in the area. Thank you, Sylvan Inn!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our annual girls’ trip in late October/early November wouldn’t be the same without a stay at the Sylvan Inn Bed and Breakfast! We are now on year 6! Every year, we’re welcomed with such warmth and kindness—it truly feels like a home away from home. The rooms are always cozy and lovely, perfect for relaxing and catching up. Breakfasts are delicious, with a great variety and everything so fresh. The staff is consistently friendly and accommodating, making sure we have everything we need. And the prices are great too! Sylvan Inn has become a cherished tradition for us, and we can’t recommend it highly enough!

My husband and I stayed at the Sylvan Inn for our Anniversary. It was a fabulous experience. It was in the perfect location, the Innkeepers were all friendly and accommodating, and the place is charming and comfortable. The first night we stayed in a room upstairs with a shared bathroom. I was nervous at first but the bathroom was always available when I needed it and it was clean and nice! There was also a small sink in the bedroom which was so helpful. The second night we stayed downstairs in a room with private bath and this was larger and quite lovely. I also appreciated the books in the common areas of this wonderful inn. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed 1 night. Great location near Sleeping Bear Dunes and within walking distance of restaurants and shops in Glen Arbor. Room had the classic B&B look but did not feel dated. Breakfast hit the spot and the staff was very friendly. Check-in was easy, but do check your texts the day-of as a text from the innkeeper was marked as spam for me. Would stay again

We stayed at The Sylvan Inn this past weekend, and I can confidently say that we made the right choice. We were the only guests at the Inn aside from one other person, and I was concerned that the slow season would result in less than full service... I was wrong. The communication before we arrived was fantastic and answered all of our questions without me even having to ask, the room was perfect for my wife and I, and the service during our stay was amazing. Breakfast was served with a smile, and the quality was even better than expected. Our innkeeper was friendly and attentive, making us feel at home almost immediately. The only thing I regret is that we didn't stay at Sylvan Inn all weekend! Whenever we come back to the area, we will absolutely try to book a room here!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights during our Michigan trip and it was the best place we’ve ever stayed at. The innkeeper was on top of everything and was so nice. The place was so cute and our room was perfect. Breakfast was amazing and the innkeeper hand delivered everything. I’m not one to leave reviews but the Sylvan Inn was too good not to!

This was our fourth visit here. The rooms are comfortable and decorated nicely. Breakfast is always delicious and can be eaten inside or taken to your room or the porch. The inn is very close to trails and the lake. Restaurants and shops are just down the street. This is a nice place, check it out!

My boyfriend has already left a fantastic review for this place but I just couldn’t not leave one as well. I not one to write reviews but this place is the cutest, most comfortable/cozy, and more relaxing than any other place I’ve ever been! The innkeeper was the nicest person in the world. She does everything from asking how you like your eggs cooked to even asking if you need help carrying your luggage when checking out! The rooms were spectacular and complimentary coffee and tea right outside! There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place! If you’re ever looking for the absolute best place to stay in Glen Arbor this is it!
